Fatal accident on 880 in San José – Telemundo Bay Area 48
All lanes of Interstate 880 in San Jose have reopened after a fatal crash early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said that around 4:40 a.m., a car overturned after hitting the center divider in the northbound lanes of the freeway near The Alameda.
Moments later, a motorcycle crashed into the overturned vehicle. Due to the impact, the motorcyclist was thrown and landed in some bushes near the highway.
The CHP confirmed that at least one person was killed in the crash.
The northbound lanes of I-880 in the area were closed by the crash, but reopened around 8:30 a.m.
