Britain becomes first G7 nation to end coal production with latest plant closure




Britain’s last remaining coal-fired power station, Ratcliffe-on-Soar in Nottinghamshire, will stop generating electricity on Monday after 57 years of operation. The closure is in line with the government’s coal phase-out policy, which began nearly a decade ago.
