Claudia Sheinbaum Inauguration Reactions – Telemundo Bay Area 48
San Jose’s Hispanic community expressed their excitement at the inauguration of the first president in the history of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum.
“He better be the same as Lopez Obrador,” resident Amelia Gonzalez said.
But others were not interested in this transfer of power.
“Well, it’s the same because they don’t help any of the Mexicans,” said resident Camelia Perez.
Andres Quintero, professor of political science, assured that the moment that Mexico has just experienced is historic and important.
Although it is historic, Quintero hopes that the country’s expectations for the first female president will be met.
“The challenges continue. There is insecurity, and it is serious, in Mexico, the fact that it is a historic moment should not diminish the fact that it will simply solve the problems,” Quintero explained.
Problems such as corruption in the government, kidnappings and war between drug cartels.
Quintero emphasized that Sheinbaum has pledged to double the National Guard’s strength to improve national security.
Claudia Sheinbaum is a scientist who studied at UC Berkeley and Stanford.
