In Romania, extreme weather events are intensifying. While the eastern parts of the country are slowly recovering from storm Boris, the south is suffering from drought and desertification. Romania is one of the EU’s main exporters of cereals, but heatwaves have put crops, particularly maize and sunflowers, at risk.
